Ian Scroggs: The Right Stuff Mach 3 Award Winner at Space Camp for Interested Visually Impaired Learners

Our own Brave, 7th grader Ian Scroggs, was chosen to attend the Space Camp for Interested Visually Impaired Students in Huntsville, Alabama.  This is Ian's third year attending and the 30th year for SCIVIS.  Ian, along with another student from Washington Irving Middle School, participated in the Aviation Challenge where he learned about aircrafts, aerodynamics, being a pilot, survival and leadership.  Ian worked with approximately 180 other blind and visually impaired students from around the world.  Ian won the prestigious Right Stuff Award for the Mach 2 program for being an outstanding trainee who goes above and beyond in leadership, teamwork, and technology througout the week. Ian participated in the Aviation Challenge Mach II Program this year.   It is a fast-paced, military-inspired program where young leaders are tested in their knowledge of aerodynamics and teamwork.  Way to go, Ian!!!
