Mr. Rinschler's Classroom

Grant me Serenity to appreciate the unique gifts of my students, Courage to challenge them to do their best, and Wisdom to help them become all You created them to be.

Hello!  My name is Mr. Rinschler and welcome to my 5th grade class at Lumberport Elementary School!! 5th grade is a pivotal point in your child's elementary school experience, as it begins the transition to middle school... I am looking forward to having the opportunity to help provide a strong foundation of guidance and motivation and excite your child in all aspects of learning!  Your child's safety and education are responsibilities which I hold with absolute importance and believe that their success is a team effort.  Let's combine ALL our efforts and help them have a fantastic year!!

About Mr. Rinschler

I began teaching in 2005.  I have been teaching at Lumberport Elementary School since 2010.  Prior to coming to Lumberport Elementary School, I was a Reading Specialist for 2 years and a First Grade teacher for 3 years.  I am a very proud graduate of West Virginia University and absolutely love the Mountaineers!  I am proud to say that I am a veteran of the United States military, serving in Operation Desert Storm.  Some fun facts about me:  I really enjoy running, biking and skiing; I have a love of playing board games and I facilitate the Chess & Board Games Club at LES, which meets monthly;  One of my greatest enjoyments is seeing the students gain confidence in themselves as they work hard to achieve their goals.

Planning:  8:35 a.m.-9:20 a.m.

I am a firm believer in the importance of communication!  **If you need to reach me with a question or concern,  the best time to call is during planning time.  I WILL make every effort to respond in a timely manner, however, due to meetings or other obligations which may arise, If we are unable to connect at that time, PLEASE feel free to email me at rrinschler@k12.wv.us  (there is a link to my email at the bottom of this webpage).**

Strategies to Succeed:

  • Please try to read at least 20 minutes every day!!
  • READING SHOULD BE FOR FUN AND NOT A CHORE..select books of interest and read as much as you can. Reading can be a fun family activity that can provide entertainment and quality time together.
  • MATH FACTS ARE A MUST!!  Review multiplication facts a little bit every day to prepare yourself and keep up on necessary math skills.

  Grading Scale

    A = 93 - 100

  B = 85 - 92

  C = 77 - 84
