Mrs. Jones' Bio
I am a very proud mother of two energetic boys who keep me very busy. My oldest son is a junior; he enjoys playing his trombone in the band and being part of the football team. My youngest son is oficially a middle schooler; he enjoys riding his dirtbike, playing football, and fishing.
I have a wonderful husband who supports me all the way in my career. I graduated from Fairmont State University in May of 2006 with a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education. I then decided that I wanted to further my education, so I went back to Fairmont State and gradutated in May of 2010 with a Master's Degree in Education with a focus in Special Education. I have been working in the special education department at LES for the past six years.
Please continue practicing sight words with your child every night. It is very important that they have quick recall of sight words to help them improve their reading fluency. They also have their spelling words in thier agenda books. Please study their spelling words with them nightly.
Please continue to practice basic math facts daily. First graders are working on subtraction. In second grade we are working on double digit subtraction with regrouping, which is also known as borrowing. In third grade we are at the beginning stages of multiplication.
