                 Math III:

Course description/Prerequisites:  Must have successfully completed Math II.

The High School Math III* course builds on the Math II course and offers a more personalized learning pathway with two options ā€“ Math III LA or Math III STEM. It is in Mathematics III that students pull together and apply the accumulation of learning that they have from their previous courses, with content grouped into four critical areas, organized into units. They apply methods from probability and statistics to draw inferences and conclusions from data. Students expand their repertoire of functions to include polynomial, rational and radical functions. They expand their study of right triangle trigonometry to include general triangles. Finally, students bring together all of their experience with functions and geometry to create models and solve contextual problems.

Attendance policy:  As stated in the Harrison Country BOE handbook.  Please remember that although you can make up a missed assignment due to an absence, you will have lost some valuable instruction time.  So please do your best to attend every class.

Grading:  Your grade will be determined from a point system.  The points will be based on tests, homework, quizzes, and journal entries.  Each category of work will have the following point scale:

            Type                                       Possible Points

            Tests                                        0-100

            Homework Quiz                     0-25

            Homework                              0-5

Grades can be checked regularly on www.livegrades.com

** I reserve the right to make changes in the point system makeup in order to best serve my students.**

  • Extra help ā€“ I am available to answer questions about homework or the upcoming test every morning at 7:10 a.m. in the gym
  • I will notify parents (through a written progress report) at the middle of the six weeks if the student has less than a ā€œCā€ average in my class.

If parents need to speak with me, the best time to get a hold of me is between 8:00 and 9:00 a.m. at the school 842-3693
