The Bridgeport Middle School family is happy to welcome Gary Oldaker to the tribe as our assistant principal. Mr. Oldaker joins us with a great deal of experience starting as a math teacher at Washington Irving Middle School and then transitioning to the new Robert C. Byrd High School where he continued to inspire students with more than numbers and formulas for the next five years. The next step in his journey led to Lincoln High School where he devoted thirteen years of his career, five as a math teacher and eight as assistant principal. Fulfilling his calling as a leader, he returned to Washington Irving, this time as the principal. He spent the next two years guiding the staff and students, known as the WI Hilltoppers, to excellence in academics and extracurricular endeavors. In 2015, Mr. Oldaker shared his expertise in leadership and school transformation with Doddridge County school system as he served as Director of Curriculum, Instruction, Federal Programs, and Safety until joining us as assistant principal in 2017. Mr. Oldaker is happy to be back in Harrison County and excited to be part of the Bridgeport Middle family. He states, "It's a rare opportunity to get to work with such a great staff, motivated students, and engaged parents and community members." Mr. Oldaker resides in Shinnston with his wife Roziland, and his two sons, Nicholas and Logan.
