Officer Michael Corder's Biography

"I was born on November 7, 1966 in Hampton, VA, and we moved to WV when I was 3 years old.  I graduated from South Harrison High School in 1985 and went to WVU for 1 year and then to WV Business College for 2 years, where I received a diploma in Security/Law Enforcement.  I married my high school sweethear, Marcia, in 1988.  We have 3 daughters.  I then went to the United States Marine Corps and stayed for 10 years.

Upon returning to WV I became a Deputy Sheriff in Harrison County.  I was a member of the SWAT team, DATE teacher, firearms instructor, and i served in the US Marshall's Task Force.  I stayed there for 11 years and was a Sergeant when I resigned.  I went on to be a contractor with the DOD, serving with the Marine Corps for 3 years in Afghanistan as a Law Enforcement professional.  When I finished with that, I came back home to become a police officer again.  I went to work for the town of Anmoore for 3 years and then came to the Shinnston PD to become Lincoln's PRO Officer.  I am a member of the West Virginia National Guard, where I am a Military Police Sargeant.  My hobbies are SCUBA, hunting and fishing, and my 7 grandsons."
