Mrs. Parrish earned her BS in Psychology from Fairmont State College in 1992. After college, she worked for several years at United Summit Center as a case manager for chronically mentally ill adults. She was awarded her MA in counseling from West Virginia University in 1998.
Mrs. Parrish started her school counseling career in Lewis county in 2000, where she served as both an elementary and middle school counselor during the time of her employment. She was very happy to have the opportunity to get back to her roots, and become a school counselor at Mountaineer Middle School in 2009. As a 1988 graduate of Liberty High School, she enjoys working in the same school district where she was born and raised.

The West Virginia Governor's School for Math and Science -
(GSMS) is ready to embark on this summer's session on the campus of WVU. GSMS offers studetns who are currently in the 7th and 8th grade the free opportunity to live and study on campus for 10-14 days, where they will work in cooperative groups to research and solve problems.
A description of the requirements for prospective students, as well as applications and the dates of each camp, can be found on the website at http://www.govschools.wv.gov
The deadline for applications for MMS is March 1. This will allow us enough time to get the application turned into the county office where the decisiions about who goes will be made. Please contact Mrs. Parrish with any questions you may have.
