THINGS WE DO!

On April 27 Nutter Fort Primary School performed their 3rd annual second grade spring music program. This year’s theme was “Boogie Down Broadway. Song selections included popular tune from Broadway shows such as Annie, Hairspray, and Bye-Bye Birdie.  Students had prepared since February working on memorizing lyrics and motions.

“My students were super excited about performing. We did a school wide performance during the day for our student body and then we did an evening performance for our parents. We had over 200 family member come to watch our students.” said Eric Brand, Elementary Music Specialist at Nutter Fort Primary.

Claire Freeland, a student in Ms. Fedio’s second grade classroom played an important role in this year’s program. She was one of the key note speakers that lead the audience through the performance. “I really liked best that I was able to speak in front of people. I also enjoyed that I was able to perform with my friends and I just think that everyone did an excellent job.”

OUR COMMUNITY SERVICE

Canned Good Drive

Nutter Fort Primary built a display of canned foods as part of a reading lesson. Students and staff donated more than 300 canned food items to the Mustard Seed.  The project was part of a community service commitment based on the children's book "The Very Hungry Caterpillar."

The Mustard Seed says donation from even the smallest of hands helps their mission in a big way.

Connie Wolfinger of the Mustard Seed said, "This is very generous and very kind of them to do it. This will help a lot of families. In December we fed 60 families. It helps us quite a bit because during the winter, donations are always down, not only in our community but in other communities as well."
