Leadership is communicating a person’s worth and potential so clearly that they are inspired to see it in themselves.”—Dr. Stephen R. Covey

Brief Overview of the Leader in Me:

The Leader in Me process was created to help teachers develop leadership skills in their students. Helping students discover their own individual unique strengths enables teachers to find opportunities for every child to shine—to be a leader.  Incorporating the 7 Habits language into all curriculum areas deepens student understanding and acknowledges what the school and teacher believe to be important. Discussing which habits a character in a story or a historical figure display are just a few of the simple ways to incorporate the 7 Habits into what the teachers are already doing.

“Leadership” is the umbrella term to encompass the many character traits and basic life competencies that parents, business leaders, and educators are voicing as the desired sills necessary to thrive in the 21st century:

  •   Creativity and Innovation
  •   Critical Thinking and Problem Solving
  •   Communication and Collaboration
  •   Flexibility and Adaptability
  •   Initiative and Self-Direction
  •   Social and Cross-Cultural Skills
  •   Productivity and Accountability
  •   Leadership and Responsibility

We are excited to implement this new initiative and look forward to finding the leader in everyone at Nutter Fort Primary!
