Welcome.  My name is Beth Clayton, one of the teachers for Harrison County’s elementary Gifted Program.  This is my 31th year teaching in Harrison County Schools.  I earned my Bachelor of Art Degree in Elementary Education from Fairmont State College and my Master’s Degree in Gifted Education from West Virginia University plus 45 additional hours of study.

My very talented husband, Mark Clayton, is retired from teaching but continues to coach football for Harrison County Schools.  We have two beautiful daughters.  Our oldest is a junior at West Virginia Wesleyan College and our youngest is a junior at Liberty High School.  We have a Siberian husky named Storm.  Don’t be surprised if you see me walking her around town.

As a teacher of the gifted program I offer math, language arts, social studies and science courses for all grade levels to develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills over the course of the year.  I encourage identified students to participate and seize the opportunities to which they have been afforded.  I strive to provide many fun and exciting activities and challenges that will result in rewarding educational experiences.
