Harrison County Schools
...Where all are Leaders and all are Learners.
Due to the limited predictability of the end of the work stoppage, Dr. Manchin will make an announcement at 10 AM Monday, February 26 concerning extracurricular activities and use of Harrison County Schools facilities. Until this announcement on Monday, activities scheduled in our facilities after noon on Sunday will go on in limited capacity and in consideration of extensive resources, time commitment, and availability to reschedule. Dr. Manchin remains in continuous contact with officials of the WVSSAC as well as state and local union leaders during this time as we continue to support our employees and make the decisions in the best interest of our employees and students.
Statement from Superintendent Dr. Mark A. Manchin: HCS remains in constant contact with the WVSSAC, and we have confirmation that if the girls sectional basketball game is not played Saturday and Monday, our teams do not forfeit moving forward in tournament play. As we continue to support our teachers and service personnel, we are working diligently to schedule the sectional next week. Additionally, the board will be working closely with BHS administration in order to reschedule the production of Barnum in the future.
