Automotive Technology Theory & Service
Overview: A student enrolled in the automotive technology course will be exposed to the fundamentals and skills.
Units of Study:
Length of the Course: This course requires two years for completion. Students should enroll in their junior year and continue throughout their senior year.
Opportunities in the Field: Job opportunities in this occupation are expected to be good for persons who complete automotive training programs in high school, vocational, and technical schools. People whose training includes basic electronic skills should have the best opportunities. Persons without formal mechanic training are likely to face competition for entry-level jobs.

Accessibility: Open to high school sophomores, juniors, and seniors or adults who have a high school diploma, GED, or are working toward their GED.
Affordable Cost: United Technical Center offers low-cost seat fees for adult students.
Career Planning: UTC offers opportunities for career counseling and assistance in job placement.
Developmental Education: UTC offers refresher courses in reading, writing, and math prior to enrollment or while taking technical classes.
Organizations: Skills USA and National Technical Honor Society(NTHS) are sponsered by UTC for the advancement and recognition of individual student skills and academics.
Location: UTC is located on Rt. 19 North of Clarksburg. Take the West Pike Street exit off Rt. 50 West of Clarksburg and travel approximately 2 miles toward Shinnston.
