Making a Difference

UTC Criminal Justice curriculum prepares the student for a career in a variety of criminal justice agencies on the local, state, and national levels. The program is designed to instruct students on the principles of the justice systems and sub-systems. Emphasis on academic and practical exposure to such concepts as evidence collection, criminal investigations, community relations, firearms training, traffic enforcement and patrol procedures are stressed. The curriculum also prepares the student to transfer to a four-year university and academically compete in a B.S. or B.A. degree program.

Law Enforcement and Corrections is one of the fastest growing career fields today. Students will get training on handcuffing, fingerprinting, traffic stops, room clearing, Shoot & Don't Shoot scenarios, police ethic issues, prisoner transportation, officer safety, leadership, the criminal justice system and corrections.

Students will learn how to properly process a crime scene, lift fingerprints, understand blood spatter analysis, collect and identify evidence, bullet trajectory and crime scene photography.
