The first CTE Machine Tool program in the State of West Virginia to achieve NIMS Accreditation.



Precision Machining Company is a Simulated Workplace located at United Technical Center in Clarksburg, WV.

This program is designed for the student to learn the skills necessary to operate a variety of

machining equipment, such as: Lathe, Mill, Grinder, Drill Press, CNC Turning Center and CNC Machining Center.











The students will have the opportunity to earn the following NIMS Level 1 Certifications:


Measurement,

Materials and Safety

Job Planning, Benchwork and Layout

Drill Press

Turning Operations: Turning Chucking

Turning Operations: Turning Between Centers

Milling I

CNC Mill Level 1

CNC Lathe Level 1

This course requires 2 years to complete. Students should enroll in their Junior year

and continue throughout their Senior year.

Students will accomplish completer status after the second year.
Adults who have a high school diploma, GED,

or are working toward a GED may apply for acceptance to this program.


Adult students have the option of completing the program in 1 year.


Students can also earn 41 credit hours toward an Associate Degree in Applied Science in Machinist/CNC or Technical

Studies or Board of Governor AAS degrees from Mountwest Community and Technical College in Huntington, WV.
