About Mrs. Nutter


Hi, my name is Staci Nutter and I have been employeed by the HCBOE for 21 years. 

I started out coaching while in college and then became a teacher. 

I have been a teacher for 18 years. I began teaching math

at WIMS in 2003 and have been here ever since!

I am an 8th grade team leader & teach Algebra I and Math 8.

I have degrees in Math, Physical Education and Administration. 

I have coached cheerleading, track and danceline for schools in the county. 

I love teaching math and enjoy my students each year!

R - Respectful -Be an active participant by being on task, listening to others, working individually and as a group cooperatively.  When Mrs. Nutter is talking, you are not!

O - Organized - Come to class prepared with the proper materials (book, notebook, assignment, pencil)

C - Considerate - Return all classroom materials (calculators, rulers, etc.) to the proper area or forfeit the right to use them.

K - Knowledgeable - Show all work in pencil. Ask appropriate questions. Write down examples and notes.

S - Safe - Please be in your assigned seat on time and remain there unitl dismissed by the teacher.

MATH 8/ALGEBRA I - SYLLABUS


WHAT TO BRING DAILY –

  • Math textbook, math notebook, homework, classwork, pencil, school agenda, school folder, good attitude.
  • MATH 8 have 2 textbooks – Math Connects and Carnegie.   www.glencoe.com
  • ALGEBRA I - 1 BOOK and a workbook.

GRADES –

  • Classwork
  • Homework
  • Bellringers
  • Notebooks – notes, examples, HW, vocabulary, writing, etc.
  • Quiz
  • Test
  • Projects

CELL PHONES – Follow the school policy – Electronics are not to be seen or heard.

Progress Reports – Math 8 Sent home at the 4.5 week mark in each 9 week grading period.

                                - Algebra I sent home at the 3 week mark in each 6 week grading period.

                                 

(Algebra I grades will not show up on report cards until the semester - you will get a print out from Livegrades as the report cards and it is a high school credit.)


LIVEGRADES – Updated weekly.  Please login to see student’s progress. 


Make – Up Work – Go to the make-up bin and get your work.  Return make up work to teacher.  If a homework grade or test was given, it is the student’s responsibility to see that it is made up or turned in. 

  • If you are absent a M (missing) automatically appears in Livegrades until it is made up.
  • 1 day per absence is allowed.

LATE WORK – not accepted.

EXTRA CREDIT – very limited opportunities.  Take advantage of them when you can.
