Maxwell James Myers
Throughout his four years at Lincoln, Maxwell has earned a spot on the perfect honor roll due to his exceptional grades. He is in the top 10 of his class, and has qualified as a PROMISE scholar. Maxwell was inducted into the National Honor Society his sophomore year, where he now serves as Treasurer. He has taken many dual credit, advanced placement, and honors classes throughout high school, and has been the recipient of several Top Scholar awards.
Maxwell also excels athletically, and has been an asset, helping pave the way for successful seasons for multiple teams at Lincoln. A four-year member of the cross country team, Maxwell not only served as Captain, he also earned 1st Team All County, 1st Team All Region, 2nd Team All State, and most impressively, was part of the State Runner Up Team. He is also currently playing his fourth year on the school’s basketball team. He will finish his final season with the track team this spring, where he is already a two-year state track meet qualifier where he and his team placed 5th in the 4x8 relay his sophomore year.
Maxwell’s hard work doesn’t stop in the classroom and on athletic fields, though. He is a four-year member of Student Council where he has served on the executive committee; but most notably is that he has served as Class Historian his junior and senior years. He is also a four-year member of the Key Club, where he serves as a board member. Maxwell was also inducted in to the National Science Honor Society where he serves as Secretary, and is a current member of the Athletic Council. He has spent countless hours volunteering for worthwhile programs in his community. Some of these include: Feed-a-Family, Field Day with Friends, and Angel Luv.
Maxwell is employed at The Hive Entertainment Zone at the Meadowbrook Mall, and enjoys watching sports, running, and spending time with family and friends.
Maxwell has plans to attend West Virginia University in the fall to major in biomedical engineering.
Samuel Martin Waybright
Samuel Martin Waybright is the son of Rob and Kristi Waybright of Shinnston, and the grandson of Bob and Melody Waybright of Shinnston, Vicki Warner of Shinnston, and Jim and Priscilla Miles of Nutter Fort.
Throughout his four years at Lincoln, Samuel has earned a spot on the perfect honor roll due to his exceptional grades, and currently maintains a 4.15 gpa. He is in the top 10 of his class, and has qualified as a PROMISE scholar. Samuel was inducted into the National Honor Society his sophomore year, has taken many dual credit, advanced placement, and honors classes throughout high school, and has been the recipient of several Top Scholar awards. Samuel recently received the College Board National Rural and Small Town Recognition Award.
Samuel also excels athletically. A four-year member of the boys’ soccer team, Samuel served as captain his senior year. His favorite memory is completing a hat trick of assists (three) his junior year to ensure a 3-2 win over Notre Dame. He was also a member of the XC team.
Samuel’s hard work doesn’t stop in the classroom and on athletic fields, though. He is a four-year member of Student Council where he has served on the executive committee; but more notably, was elected as Student Body Secretary his junior year and Student Body President his senior year. He was also President of his class his freshman and sophomore years. Samuel is a four-year member of the Key Club where he has served as Board Member. He was also the two-year director of The Den, a three-year member of the National English Honor Society, and a member of the yearbook staff, Clean Cougars, Writing Club, and the Key Club. He has spent countless hours – over 250 actually - volunteering in his community. Some of these include: Feed-a-Family, Field Day with Friends, and Angel Luv.
Samuel enjoys watching soccer, writing, hanging out with friends, and spending quality time with family. He is employed at Fox’s Pizza.
Samuel has plans to attend West Virginia University to major in marketing.
