The Summer Food Service Program is an opportunity to make sure West Virginia children receive healthy and delicious meals when the school year ends. Student meals will be available for onsite dining at participating locations.
However, popular pandemic waivers that allowed for flexibilities such as grab-and-go meal service, home delivery, guardian meal pick-up and multi-day meal boxes have all expired at the federal level. These options will no longer be available.
To find summer meal sites near you, visit wvsummerfood.com or text FOOD or COMIDA to 304-304.

MMS will hold its Academic Awards Ceremony on June 1st. Invitations were sent out and we are excited to celebrate our top students! See our events calendar for times.

Tomorrow is the MMS End of Year Bash. We ask that students bring their own water bottle, if possible. They may also need sunscreen as well. All students in attendance will be able to attend.

8th grade students only will be turning in their iPads, charging blocks, and cables May 27th. Please make sure that they have those items ready tomorrow at school.
6th and 7th graders will be able to keep theirs over the summer, unless they plan on moving out of county or attending another school in the county.

🚨 REMINDER 🚨
June 3rd is the Last Day for Students / Faculty Senate Meeting. Schools we will be dismissing 3 hours early to allow for the Faculty Senate Meeting.

MMS 8th grader, Breanna Cutright, recently secured a position as a RAZE ambassador for the state of WV for the 22-23 school year. Her accomplishments from the organization of our school wide events were the key to her receiving such a distinction at the state level.
During the 2022-23 school year, Breanna will be working with other ambassadors throughout the state to plan and organize statewide events for all the local RAZE crews in WV.
Congratulations Breanna on this great honor!!

Braydon Hendricks and Shyanne Rathbun were both recently recognized as Golden Horseshoe Winners for Harrison County for the 2021-22 school year. The WV Department of Education only recognizes 6 students from Harrison County each year. We are so very proud of their accomplishment! They will be tapped as a Knight and Lady of the Golden Horseshoe in a ceremony in June.
Congratulations Braydon and Shyanne!!

Reminder: Students are not allowed to bring any drinks to school other than water. Please do not allow them to bring any sugary drinks to school. Water only in their bottles.

State Testing starts this week.
Monday: 8th Grade Science Thursday: ALL GRADES Math
Make sure that your child has a fully charged iPad, earbuds, get plenty of sleep, and come to school on time on testing days!
Encourage them to do their best! These are important to show that your child has met their grade level learning expectations.

Happy Mother’s Day to all of the mothers, grandmothers, and mother figures who support, nurture, and guide our students!
