Call to Order & Introductions – Mr. Messenger called the meeting to order at 5pm.  Mrs. Skidmore, Mrs. Sutton, Mr. Cook, and Mrs. Messenger were in attendance.  Mrs. Arnett remains on leave and is unable to attend.

Approval of Minutes from October Meeting- Mr. Messenger made the motion to accept the March 2026 Minutes.  Mr. Cook seconded it. All were in favor of approval.

Feedback on Strategic Plan – Mrs. Skidmore shared that the team working on the strategic plan reviewed the core beliefs and mission last year and did not recommend any changes for this year. She shared a draft of the strategic plan goals for the coming year and the data that was used to set these goals and asked for any suggestions from the group.

Floor Open for Questions/Concerns – Parnets report that iReady is a constant discussion among parents and it is not positive. This spring parents reported (as did teachers) that students were reporting that they do not have to pass the test on a lesson to get credit for doing it thus students seem to be moving on without mastery and with benchmarking some students have high quantiles which appears to equate to above level abilities but the grade equivalent is showing on grade level where it used to show these children well above grade level.  The consensus of the group is that they would like for iReady to be relied on much less in the future. Mrs. Skidmore shared that it is currently serving as our required benchmark program.  While there are other options for benchmarking such as Cambium (the same platform as the summative assessment) the county makes that decision. Mr. Messenger asked the group if they would support the LSIC writing a letter to the county indicating the desire that our school move away from the iReady platform to the greatest extent possible and all were in favor.  Mrs. Skidmore said that there are discussions ongoing at the county level about benchmarking and our LSIC may need to do nothing.  She will assist the LSIC in drafting the letter to  ensure that the intent of the LSIC comes across in the letter if a letter is necessary.

Set Future Meeting Dates – This is the last required meeting for the year. Mr. Messenger would like us to meet again if it is necessary to write a letter about iReady.

Mrs. Sutton made the motion that the meeting be adjourned.  Mr. Cook seconded it. Meeting was adjourned at 5:45pm.
