Meeting Notes: Organizational Meeting and 1st 9-week meeting

  1. Review of Policy for LSIC, including training from WVDE

    2. Vice Chair - Jerri Hinebaugh - reminders and meetings, if Chair is not available

    3. Secretary - Nacole Yost - take notes to send to chair

  4. Positive School Culture, Improvement, Academics, Safety, and Discipline

    1. Monthly Staff Meals - Monday, October 12 - bring snacks to share

    2. School Wide Positive Activities and Parent Volunteer Group and Local Partnerships - Miranda Watson will send out info to David Oliverio for Facebook, etc. for parents to join, she'll order popcorn supplies, organize Trunk or Treat, Spirit Week, and Fundraisers

    3. Academics - Title I presentation of the Strategic Plan for Victory (Handout provided) - 3 Goals for the year

      1. Literacy - ELA Target Goal of 41% on Summative Assessment (Economically Disadvantaged @ 39%, Homeless @ 42%, Disabilities @ 20%, and White students @ 41%)

      2. Math - Goal Learning Target of 46% (Homeless population @ 42%, Economically Disadvantaged @ 41%, Disabilities @ 22%, and White students @ 46%)

      3. Attendance - less than 20% of our students will be chronically absent

    4. Greenhouse - We should have all the supplies needed to start fall planting. Adam Hamrick will provide us with more seeds.

    5. Positive Behavior Supports - Bobcat Bucks, rewards are working great! Stamps help with communication with parents, no discipline reports, and aids on buses are not getting filled.

    6. Attendance -

      1. 282 students currently enrolled, last year was 323

      2. Have not had to be make calls for 3 days and 5 days

    7. Safety Review -

      1. New System Installed

        1. In principal's office

        2. Will come across intercom

        3. Requested for a light for the bus or playground area

        4. We will continue to run fire drills.
