It's the start of another school year and that means the one thing we all procrastinate doing...studying! Some students may feel like they're not studying well enough, that they don't have good time management, or just have a hard time preparing for upcoming tests. We decided to speak with Mrs. Ferguson on how to effectively study and prepare for tests and quizzes that should help any struggling student! Here are some tips and tricks from Mrs. Ferguson:

  1. Make a schedule. A schedule helps you to figure out what is due, what you need to study, and which tests are next.

  1. Look at your study guide. Teachers will almost always give you a study guide, but if not, notes are just as good. A study guide will have all the material on a test and will most likely be organized so that you can easily find specific material.

  1. Have a study partner. Having a friend to study with might make you feel less frustrated. You can also bounce your ideas off of them or ask them to check your work. Two heads are always better than one!

  1. Ask questions. If you don't understand the topic, then ask the teacher if they can break it down for you to help your understanding.

If one way of studying is not working for you, then try another! Everyone learns in their own way and that's alright! If you make a schedule or a study plan, then follow through and adjust it as necessary to your activities.
