Did you know your child can get a FREE sports physical during the school day right here at Johnson in our Community Care Clinic before school ends for the summer? How convenient is that! Community Care is here every Wednesday, including today. Call 304-842-2747 to get your child's name on the list! The same is happening at BMS and BHS.

Johnson Elementary will begin the West Virginia General Summative Assessment tomorrow. The 5th grade will be taking their science test. Next week, the 3rd and 4th grades will join the testing. Please encourage your 5th grader to get plenty of rest, eat a good breakfast, and take a deep breath, because we know they will do great! Our planning schedule will change on testing days to ensure 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade have to whole morning open for testing. It is very important that students are in attendance and that they report on time.

Heads up! The State has denied our waiver request. That means June 2nd, 3rd, and 4th are now instructional days.
📅 Last day for students: June 4th
📅 Last day for 200-day employees: June 5th
📝 High school exams: May 29th & 30th

Let's get ready for Santa Shop! Here are some reminders. Everything is $2 - simply and easy. Help your child - make a list of who they need to buy for. Remember, these are small children and the situation can be overwhelming. Please don't give them long, extensive lists. Seal everything up in an envelope with their name. Children shop on their typical library day. If your child has gifted on their shopping day, they can shop the next day on planning.

Smile Express is coming to our schools soon! Forms have been sent home, so check with your child if you haven't seen one. If you need another form or want to sign up online, you can do that at this link: https://intakeq.com/new/dy6yfu

Hey, 5th grade parents. I just wanted to send a mass text to your grade level. Nothing has changed from the past. 5th grade students cannot be walkers. They have to be met at the doors by an adult just like the other grades. This is the guideline both Simpson and Johnson Elementary follow. It has been the practice here for at least the last 14 years and I imagine longer. We appreciate you understanding. Yes, in middle school, they can be.
