1. Call to Order

The meeting was called to order at 2:48 PM by LSIC Chair, Mrs. Keirsten Farrari. A quorum was confirmed.

3. Approval of Previous Minutes

Kimberlee McCloud motioned to suspend the reading of the minutes and adopt them as written. Kaitlin Brown seconded and the motion passed.

4. Principal’s Report

Data information was shared by Dr. Danielle Veltri to the stakeholders of the school.

A. Dojo Data

Dr. Veltri could not share the middle-of-year Dojo data due to technical issues. She will contact Dojo to troubleshoot the problem.

Data was shared about the past month with the average positive and negative points made across grade levels.

There were more positive than negative points given in January.

B. I-Ready

Grade level performance and growth charts were shared.

There is strong growth in both ELA and Math, with progression leaning toward low performance/high growth and high performance/high growth.

C. Possible Retention

9 students are currently on the retention list.

D. WVCC – Behavioral Health

WVCC currently sees 18–20 students.

There have been 20–30 referrals this year.

The therapist is at the school 3 days a week.

E. Second Chance

14% of the student body were referred.

Of that group, 17%–35% were 5th grade students.

Second grade had the lowest percentage.

F. Whole Group Counseling

Mr. Retton gave 92 whole-group lessons in classrooms.

Mr. Retton had 167 individual sessions. Dr. Veltri presented a breakdown by grade level and the main reasons for sessions, such as anxiety or peer-to-peer issues.

He conducts daily check-ins and check-outs with 18 students. These are brief meetings.

G. Office Discipline

Dr. Veltri shared lunch detention, after school detention, ISS, and OSS statistics with the group.

  • Lunch detention: 3 (multi-day)

  • After school detention: 7 assigned

  • ISS: 2

  • OSS: 2 (multi-day)

H. I-Ready Charts

Dr. Veltri provided an overview of I-Ready scores and explained the breakdown of ELA and Math testing areas. Growth was made.

5. New Business

A. PTA Student T-Shirt Design Contest

The PTA expressed willingness to work with LSIC on the design contest. They requested input on rules and help coordinating a theme.

LSIC will partner with PTA to support this project.

6. Public Comment

No public comments were received.

7. Announcements

The next meeting is scheduled for May.

A motion to adjourn was made by Nina Loar and seconded by Shelly Barnett. The meeting adjourned at 3:18 PM.
