Training was given to the group as well as PowerPoint was sent to the whole group for us to review independently as well.

New Business

Growing concern for parents lack of transportation to get students who are sick at school. Options being looked into: Senior Center Van, Local NV church, asking city to create a bus route to the school for parents, PRO officer, Community Care transport… all were discussed and will be explored by the LSIC team.
Busing issue – bus route, stops being far for students, bus behaviors, lack of weather shelters, and students being three to a seat on busses were discussed. Team will draft a letter to school board to address the matter. Idea brought was to ask the school board to add a bus and bus route which will help all matters above.
Fundraising options – Dr. Veltri will let LSIC know how her fundraiser went to determine if LSIC will do small school pride fundraiser to raise funds for possible school improvement projects. PTA is willing to help team up with this as well.
Holiday meals – a draft flyer was done as well as ideas to raise donations for holiday meals. PTA will team up with LSIC. Team will individually ask businesses to donate items to families. Local news may be reached out to about running a story.
