Harrison County Board of Education Seal

After an initial surge at the start of October, our School District has observed a downward trend in COVID-19 cases in recent weeks. Weekly reported cases in our school system have slumped from a high of 150 from September 26 - October 3, to a low of 70 reported cases from October 17-24.

While this data is promising, it is still well above the West Virginia State average of approximately 53 cases per day for entire counties.

We are optimistic that we are heading in the right direction, but we are not there yet.

With the significant community and school spread that is continuing throughout Harrison County, the Harrison-Clarksburg Health Department has advised that we continue our mask requirement. Therefore, we are extending the mask requirement for all staff and students inside of our K-12 buildings and on our buses through November 28, 2021.

We will re-evaluate the requirement on or before November 28, and make a further determination dependent upon the available data at that time.

Thank you for your understanding and patience as we continue to navigate this pandemic within our schools.
