We are off to a relatively good start with traffic, but there is always room for improvement. And, right now, it has mostly been drop-off veterans out there. On Monday, we are bringing in another 107 potential newbies.
We truly mean no offense in this message, but sometimes, we have to be blunt and clear. (And, sometimes, blunt and clear still does not work.) We always appreciate you working with us.
The Big 3 Traffic Reminders:
1. You cannot pull in or park in the front lot directly off of Johnson Avenue. That is our bus lane. If you are NOT entering down by the high school and driving around to reach our main lot, you are in the wrong place. (We have only a handful of legitimate, documented cases to which this does not apply.)
2. No one but a child should ever get out of the car in the drop-off lane. If grandparents do not receive these texts, we are asking that you forward that message along. If you need to get out, you need to park.
3. You do not have to wait to be the first car in line to let your children out. We have signs indicating when drop-off starts and when drop-off ends. When you find yourself anywhere between those signs, that is when your student should get out.
When in doubt, we always encourage you to park. Drop-off is meant to be fast. Students should be ready, and traffic should flow. Our crossing guard, Jack, is the one in charge out there.
Kindergarten parents, we do apologize ahead of time for any rudeness that may be shown to you on your first day in the lot. We know you are learning. These messages are intended to help.
