Hey, Little Indian Families!
School starts for students in grades 1st – 5th on Monday, August 18th. As you enter the parking lots or walk your children to the Commons Doors, please check out our playground, sidewalks, and new benches / picnic table.
These updates and additions to beautify our existing playground and school grounds are thanks to the efforts and hard work from Eastern Gas Transmission and Storage, Southern Area and West Virgina Wet employees. Eastern Gas Transmission employees spent countless hours over the past two weeks volunteering their time to provide a fresh coat of paint to our swings, four square and hopscotch areas. They power washed the sidewalks, white picket fence, and the retaining wall for shine and a beautiful, updated aesthetic. To help with the drainage due to run off in inclement storms, they worked diligently to remedy and provide structure for safety of all.
Their efforts are due in part to a grant submitted to overhaul our school playground. Through a monetary contribution and a plethora of in-kind support, we are now able to get started on our larger playground project.
As with any project, it will take the support of our Simpson community, families, and local businesses to bring our goal of a new playground to life. Additional information will be distributed on how you can help once we learn of potential funding through additional application submissions.
