Old Business
School Fundraising
Spirit Wear: Email sent to begin soon. No dates included. Items may include ornaments, tote bags, and hats. Orders should be completed by winter break.
Second Semester Fundraiser: Dependent on final numbers from the board office.
Computer Lab
Computers are outdated and at end of life.
No updates available for current computers.
Mr. Rubenstein is working with the county to determine replacement options or use of levy funds.
Possibility of using fundraiser money for computer replacement.
Apple desktop computers discussed.
$42,000 available through technology levy, with teacher earmarks.
Quotes requested for Apple and Windows computers.
Term Extension
Mrs. Brackman approved for a one-year term extension. Motion by Mr. Rubenstein. Seconded by Mrs. McDonald. Motion carried.
Playground
$64,000 received for playground.
Proposal presented at October school board meeting.
Potential additional $180,000 allocated as part of construction.
Meeting scheduled with Davis Construction for Pre-K playground.
Pre-K playground may be part of main playground but fenced separately.
Possible completion in late spring.
Need quotes for fencing, security fencing, and retaining wall.
Goal is two fenced playgrounds.
Construction – Restrooms
County has not approved additional restroom.
Chad Tood replaced Danny Dennison.
Budget form required for restroom project.
City has been notified.
Cost estimated at $18,000.
Funding source still to be determined.
New Business
Strategic Plan Goals
iReady mid-term assessment scheduled after break.
Intervention plan: Need three interventionists.
Kim and Cheryl recommended for approval.
Four days per week, three hours per day.
Kindergarten currently supported by aide.
Groups will be reviewed and rotated at start of second semester.
Partner in Education
Incorporating current partners into classrooms.
BHE GT&S and Antero may assist with science and health fair.
Health fair planned at Simpson.
Classroom focus on nutrition.
4H and DARE scheduled weekly for 5th grade.
4th grade DARE to begin later this semester.
Police Station
Staff agreed it would be helpful to have a list of approved parents to assist classrooms.
Science and Social Studies Fair
Need to reach out for assistance with the fair.
