Welcome to the 2026–2027 school year at Simpson Elementary School!

A new school year brings new opportunities to learn, grow, and make lasting memories, and we are excited to begin another incredible year with our Simpson families. Whether you are joining us for the first time or returning as one of our seasoned Little Indians, we are grateful to have you as part of our school community.

As we begin this school year together, we want to thank you for the trust you place in us each day. The partnership between home and school is one of the greatest influences on a child's success. By working together, we can provide every student with the encouragement, support, and opportunities they need to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

At Simpson Elementary, we are proud to be a T.R.I.B.E. that strives to Love Well each and every day. These principles are more than words, they define who we are. We are committed to building a school culture rooted in Trust, Respect, Integrity, Bravery, and Excellence, where every child feels safe, valued, challenged, and inspired to do their very best.

At Simpson Elementary, every child is known, valued, and encouraged to reach their fullest potential. We believe learning extends far beyond the classroom. Our goal is to develop confident, compassionate, and responsible students who are prepared for success both in school and in life.

Our dedicated faculty and staff are committed to:

  • Creating a safe, welcoming, and engaging learning environment.

  • Inspiring curiosity, creativity, collaboration, and critical thinking.

  • Holding high expectations while supporting the unique needs of every learner.

  • Teaching students how to think, not what to think.

  • Building strong partnerships with families and our community because student success is a shared responsibility.

Our school opens each day at 7:00 a.m., with breakfast served until 7:50 a.m. Students are dismissed from the morning bus room to their classrooms beginning at 7:30 a.m. All students should be in their classrooms by 7:50 a.m., before the 7:55 a.m. tardy bell.

If your child arrives after 7:55 a.m., a parent or guardian must accompany them to the office to sign them in. A tardy slip will then be issued for classroom entry.

Regular attendance and punctuality are essential to student success. Arriving on time, well-rested, and ready to learn helps students make the most of each school day. If your child is absent, please send a written excuse on the first day they return to school. Families may also submit an absence excuse electronically using the online absence excuse form for added convenience.

Student dismissal begins promptly at 2:30 p.m. to maximize instructional time while meeting required state instructional minute requirements. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation with this schedule. Please note that any changes to your child's transportation must be made by 1:30 p.m.

Thank you for being an important part of the Simpson Elementary family. We are truly grateful for your partnership and support. Together, we will continue building a school where every student feels welcomed, challenged, supported, and inspired to succeed.

If you have any questions or need assistance, please do not hesitate to contact the Simpson Elementary administrative team at 304-326-7060. Our doors are always open, and we value the opportunity to work alongside our families. Throughout the school year, important information will also be shared through your child's teacher, school and PTA social media pages, text messages, and the Harrison County Board of Education website.
