Halloween is just around the corner at Simpson Elementary! We are looking forward to celebrating with our students. Please review the information below regarding our Halloween parties, parade, and participation requirements.
The Halloween party and parade for Kindergarten–5th Grade students will be held on Friday, October 30. PreK students will have their Halloween party and parade on Thursday, October 29.
Please review the following reminders and important information:
1. Only parents/guardians who have signed up as volunteers may attend the Halloween party.
If you are a volunteer, please complete and return your Volunteer Form to Simpson Elementary.
If you have not already had your driver's license scanned by the front office, please bring it with you so it can be scanned upon arrival.
On the day of the party, students may either arrive at school in costume or bring their costume to school and change onsite.
2. Parents/guardians attending the parade or serving as party volunteers should park in the main parking lot at Bridgeport United Methodist Church (BUMC).
The “Joy” parking lot, located closest to the playground, will be blocked off for the parade. Please do not park in spaces designated for BUMC PreK families, as the PreK program will also be holding its party.
Depending on parking availability, you may need to park at Simpson Creek Church for the parade and/or party setup. Please park only in marked spaces and use extra caution when entering and leaving the parking areas to help prevent accidents and traffic congestion.
3. The parade will take place according to the following schedule:
12:55–1:00 PM:
PreK, Kindergarten, and 1st Grade
1:00–1:05 PM:
2nd and 3rd Grade
1:05–1:15 PM:
4th and 5th Grade
4. The parade will be held outside only, weather permitting. There will not be an indoor parade.
We will do our best to notify families the evening before if the parade will be canceled based on the weather forecast. If the chance of rain is minimal, we plan to hold the parade, as students will only be outside for a short period of time.
5. Classes will exit the building through the double doors nearest the cafeteria.
Students will walk up the sidewalk and around the outside edge of the Joy Parking Lot. They will then continue through the far end of the Joy Lot, enter through the gate in the white privacy fence, and return to the building.
Parents/guardians are asked to stand on the sidewalk closest to the church so that students can safely and easily proceed along the parade route.
6. Please remember that all costumes must be school-appropriate.
Costumes may not include weapons of any kind.
Costumes may not include skulls or blood.
Masks may not be worn outside of the parade.
The school reserves the right to deny any costume that is deemed inappropriate or unacceptable.
If you have questions about whether a costume is appropriate, please ask us ahead of time!
Thank you for helping us make Halloween a fun, safe, and enjoyable celebration for all of our students. We appreciate your cooperation and support!
