As we continue the 2nd nine weeks, please be cognizant of your child's attendance and proper protocols to document absences. The fall and winter months bring an abundance of various illnesses and symptoms. We do not expect, nor do we want, children in school who are sick and presenting with contagious symptoms. We understand your main concern should be your child, not attendance or truancy.
Please ensure that upon your child's return, you submit a note or complete the online attendance submission. Parents / Guardians are allowed up to 5 parent notes per semester.

Friendly Reminder for Parents And/Or Guardians Attending The 2025 Halloween Parade And/Or Serving As A Volunteer
If you are coming to the parade or helping as a volunteer, please remember: You can take photos of your own child, but please do not post pictures that include other students. Some children do not have permission to be in photos or shared online.
Thank you for helping keep all our students safe!
2025 Simpson Elementary Math Field Day Winners
Congratulations to 5th graders, Jayden Dong and Natalie Ashcom, who earned a perfect score on their assessment.
Our 4th grade winners are Matthew Gainer, 1st place, and Branson Heid, 2nd place.
These awesome scholars will represent Simpson Elementary at the county level competition.

2025 Simpson Elementary Spelling Bee Winners
Congratulations to 1st place winner and 5th grader, Isabel Boyce, and Roxy Dahl, 4th grader, for placing 2nd in our school bee. They will represent Simpson Elementary at the Harrison County Schools program in January.

Alert...Alert!
Some of our students have confessed to staying up too late! Some are sneaking to play video games. Others do not have a set bedtime. They are coming to school sleepy, and not focused. Please help by setting a bedtime, and sticking to it as best you can. Thank you!
This School Counselor uses various resources to not only present our students with the lessons, but to include them as part of the lessons in order for learning to impact them, and to help them to remember what they have learned.
These resources include:
Books, Interactive DVDs, "SMART" Interactive Guidance, Role play, Plays, Puppets and other props
Ways for adults to calm down include, but are not limited to the following:
Timing yourself out in your bedroom.
Taking deep breaths.
Listening to music.
Counting to 10, or to 100, if you need to.
Talking to someone.
Walking.
Hitting a pillow.
You can also make a calm down corner for your child with pillows, blankets (maybe make a fort), books, etc. so they will have a place to go to settle down. We have these at school, and they do work. Take care!
If you suspect child abuse or neglect, please call Child Protective Services at (800)352-6513. Your privacy will be protected.
