Harrison County Schools has become aware of an announcement circulating that our District is closed next week.
This is simply not true.
We look forward to seeing our students in the classroom on Tuesday morning after the Labor Day Holiday.

👏🏼 Congrats to Kristi Jones of Johnson Elementary on being named the WVDE Teacher of the Week on Tuesday.

FYI - We celebrate Spirit Days on Fridays. Usually we keep it close to home with a Johnson Spirit Day. However, we also like to support our community with Bridgeport and WVU Days.
Tomorrow, we are calling for a BRIDGEPORT SPIRIT DAY to celebrate Bridgeport High School's home football game tomorrow against Morgantown at 7:00 PM. Wayne Jamison field is our neighbor!
For review (or for those new to the area) - Bridgeport colors are red and white. Johnson's colors are royal blue, red, and gray. WVU is blue and gold.
Please join us by wearing red or white tomorrow, or any BRIDGEPORT attire you might have.
Note: We will have a Johnson school spirit wear sale in the near future.

🤒DON'T FEEL WELL? 🤧
Students should stay home if they are sick. Tell your mom, dad, or caregiver before you come to school. Tell your teacher or an adult if you become sick at school.

↘️A Message from Healthy Grandfamilies ↙️
Ladies and Gentlemen,
After much checking around and discussion, we have decided to postpone the live Healthy Grandfamily Sessions until March.
Grandfamilies are helping their grandchildren adjust to being back in school, some are concerned about gathering due to the upswing in COVID cases and some have some other conflicts at this time.
We will continue to meet the information and training needs of the Grandfamilies by phone calls, face to face socially distanced home visits and the Grandparents as Parents Support Group.
In January, we will start recruiting and planning for our Sessions to begin in March.

Welcome Kindergarten!
It's your turn! Open House for Kindergarten is from 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM tomorrow, September 2. Because we want you and your child to experience exactly what the students will do the first day, please enter through the gym doors. All student arrival will occur there daily – for both walkers and bus students.
A few reminders: Masks are REQUIRED for all visitors. Any person under quarantining protocol cannot attend, including those that might have tested negative, but still have days remaining. This is for the health and safety of all of us.
Rest assured the kindergarten staff is working on some alternatives to allow the students to "see" more about kindergarten prior to their first day. A similar practice was used last year, when we could not have an Open House.

The COVID-19 Reporting Numbers dashboard on the website contained out-of-date information and does not reflect current cases in our schools.
Harrison County Schools is not currently providing a COVID-19 Reporting Numbers dashboard.
We apologize for the confusion.
