The FAFSA Process
October 1, 2025: Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)'s application opens! Go to the FAFSA.gov to complete this important financial aid document. The Priority deadline for the FAFSA is March 1, 2026.
The Local Scholarship Information Database will open January 6, 2026
The local scholarship database is now accessible in the "Resources" tab of your Schoology Group for the Class of 2026.
This database contains information and applications for many local scholarships. In the coming months, the database will grow as the applications for the fall 2026 become available. Please check back often to see the new applications as the database grows.
Don't limit your scholarship search! Look far and wide. The CFWV website has listed many reputable web based search sites at https://www.cfwv.com/financial-aid/scholarship-search-tools/
Set a goal for how many you will apply to. Start local- check Schoology to see if any local scholarships are available. Check with your parent/guardian's workplace or local places of worship. Are you involved in any local non-profits, charity organizations, alumni networks? Always be sure to check the college you're interested in. Many of them have specific scholarships only available through their websites or maybe specific to the major you're interested in pursuing. These are just a few ideas to get you started!
