Principal’s Report

1. Merge Update

  • Strategic Planning Sessions: Comprised of leadership teams from RCB and Liberty. Working on a combined strategic plan.
    • Data Analysis
    • Root Causes for the Needs Assessment
    • Strategic Plan Goals and Performance Measures
    • Strategies and Action Steps
    • Strategies and Action Steps and Compliances
  • Liberty/RCB Committee Meeting & Liberty Visit: Teachers from Liberty visited RCB before Spring Break. Rooms assigned except special ed. Master schedule in draft form, pending student requests.
  • Move-up Day: 8th graders from WIMS and MMS visited RCB. Sophomores gave tours, Steel Band performed. Positive experience overall.

2. New Schedule / Scheduling Update

A master schedule (final draft) is in place. First and last periods are 90-minute blocks with 45-minute "skinny" periods. Middle of the day consists of four 45-minute periods. Students will earn 8 credits annually, with 6 classes per day. Summer updates will be provided.

3. Facility Projects Update

New bleachers and secure entrance nearly complete. Upgrades include a new dishwasher, elevator lobby tile, and theater carpet installed during Spring Break.

4. LSIC Term Review

Last meeting of the year. Teachers and service employees serve two-year terms. One-year terms for student body president and At-Large members. Members may choose to return or step aside for replacements.

Announcements

WINS!

  • Brynly Richards: 1st Place and monetary award in a national essay competition on Emir Abdelkader. Daughter of Aimee Richards (RCBHS Class of 2025).
  • 36 kids are being fed weekly through our weekend food program.
  • NHS collected fidget toys for Autism Acceptance Month; items will be donated to a special class at NFP.
  • NHS also collected items for Chemo Comfort Totes (project by RCB alum Jesica Yoak Johnson, Class of 2003).
  • Monica Juliana: Full ride to Georgetown University, with other top-tier offers.
  • Multiple student art winners from “Crimtopia”.
