Robert C. Byrd High School will host the Rio Homecoming Dance on October 4, from 8:00–10:00 pm. 🎉

Tickets for the Dance:

Tickets will be on sale from September 22 to 26 and from September 29 to October 2.
You can buy tickets in the cafeteria from 7:00 to 7:30 in the morning.
Tickets cost $10 each.
Out-of-school guest tickets cost $15 each.
Cash only—no cards or checks.

📅 Time: 3:00–6:00 PM
🏫 Tours will be available.
🎤 A short talk from our administrators will be in the theater at 3:30, 4:30, and 5:30.

📌 Important: Because of staffing changes, official schedules will be given out on the first day of school. They will not be printed tonight.

🏈 From 5:00–7:00 PM, join the Boosters at the pavilion and football field! They’ll introduce our sports teams and help kick off the new school year!

She won 3rd place in the High School-Middle School Digital Category of the 2025 WV AATSP (West Virginia American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese) Poster Contest! Now her amazing poster is moving on to represent West Virginia in the National Poster Contest! Way to go, Samantha! #HCSWV #BuiltOnCommunity

RCB SENIORS: If you are interested in making a commencement address, write a four to five-minute speech focusing on your class motto: “The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of your dreams." The speeches will be presented to an independent panel outside of the RCB Faculty for selection. Only one participant will be chosen to give the official commencement address on May 23, 2025. A typed copy of your speech is due to Mrs. Reed in room 134 by noon April 28. There are no exceptions to this deadline.

RCB Seniors: if you are interested in singing, playing a musical instrument, offering prayer or reading scripture at the baccalaureate ceremony in May, please see Mrs. Reed. There is a sign-up sheet on her classroom door.
