Some Information on EPIC Online Substitute Teacher Training

  • The cost to take one of our classes is $150.00 which is paid by the applicant.

  • EPIC offers separate classes for new and renewal candidates that are completely self-paced and completed online via Google Classroom, so they can use a computer, tablet, or phone as long as they have internet access.

  • Your county doesn’t have to be a member of our ESC for candidates to take our classes. They are open to anyone across the state with open enrollment at any time.

  • EPIC updated our classes this year to include trauma-informed best practices and continues to provide all of the state’s required topics as well as a language and literacy piece that meets the elementary ed long-term permit requirement. Additionally, we have virtual observations of more than 20 diverse classrooms embedded within the class so they can see modeled instruction of many different subjects/grade levels from a variety of educators.

  • Candidates have up to 30 days to pass the course, but most are able to complete everything within just a few days. We promptly provide a copy of the Certificate of Completion directly to the candidate as well as the candidate’s county contact if requested.
