CLARKSBURG– The Harrison County School System is partnering again with Pierpont Aviation Programs this year to have career presentations to 11th and 12th grade students at all five high schools and 8th grade students at all four middle schools.
The team from Pierpont Aviation will talk with students about the aviation education and career opportunities available for them here in Harrison County.
This Friday, September 12, the schedule is below. Pierpont’s team will be speaking to students at the schools listed below at the stated times.

At the end of Pierpont’s presentation, students in all schools this year will be invited on a field trip to the Pierpont facility at Robert C. Byrd National Aerospace Center at 1050 Industrial Rd E, Bridgeport, WV 26330. Those field trip dates will be after the school presentations and press releases will be sent out closer to the date.
Harrison County Schools, Pierpont Aviation programs, and our local aviation industry are hoping these presentations and follow up field trips will help our soon-to-be youngest generation of workers to be aware of the opportunities with the aviation industry in our area, along with a chance to see it for themselves. Progress has been made in the last few years of these career exploration activities. Pierpont Aviation Maintenance Technology program has a waiting list now and there are plans to break ground for a new classrooms and a new hangar.
On the day of the event, please feel free to ask Pierpont’s team and school counselors or administrators for comments. If a student is not to be photographed, you should be made aware by the school counselor that will be facilitating the school presentations.
