𝐖𝐕 𝐘𝐎𝐔𝐍𝐆 𝐖𝐑𝐈𝐓𝐄𝐑𝐒 𝐂𝐎𝐍𝐓𝐄𝐒𝐓 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔

The 𝐖𝐕 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐠 𝐖𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐬𝐭 has been held since 𝟏𝟗𝟖𝟒 and helps students share their writing skills. The contest is run by the 𝐂𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐖𝐕 𝐖𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭 (𝐂𝐖𝐖𝐏) at 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲, with support from the 𝐖𝐕 𝐃𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐄𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧.

𝐖𝐡𝐨 𝐂𝐚𝐧 𝐄𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫?
Students in 𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐬 𝟏–𝟏𝟐 may enter. This includes public, private, and home-schooled students who live in the county.

  • 𝐆𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐬 𝟏–𝟐: up to 𝟑𝟎𝟎 words

  • 𝐆𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐬 𝟑–𝟒: up to 𝟓𝟎𝟎 words

  • 𝐆𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐬 𝟓–𝟔 & 𝟕–𝟖: up to 𝟖𝟎𝟎 words

  • 𝐆𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐬 𝟗–𝟏𝟎: up to 𝟏,𝟎𝟎𝟎 words

  • 𝐆𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐬 𝟏𝟏–𝟏𝟐: up to 𝟏,𝟐𝟎𝟎 words

𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐭𝐨 𝐒𝐮𝐛𝐦𝐢𝐭
Entries must be sent by 𝐂𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐲 𝐂𝐨𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐬. Students, teachers, and schools do not send entries directly to the state.

𝐖𝐢𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐑𝐞𝐜𝐞𝐢𝐯𝐞

  • County winners earn 𝐜𝐞𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐬 and attend writing workshops on 𝐖𝐕 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐠 𝐖𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐃𝐚𝐲

  • State winners receive cash awards:

    • 𝟐𝐧𝐝 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐞: $𝟓𝟎
