Harrison County Schools is excited to welcome new kindergarten students for the 2026–2027 school year.
Children who will be 5 years old before July 1, 2026, are eligible to enroll in kindergarten.
Students who attended a Harrison County preschool program, including Head Start, Mother Goose, Lasting Impressions, or Cubby’s, do not need to register again for kindergarten.
Families should call their child’s school to schedule an appointment if one is required.

What to Bring to Registration
Families should bring the following items when registering their child:
Certificate of Live Birth
Parents may order a birth certificate during registration for $12. Payment must be made by check or money order payable to the Office of Vital Registration.
If the child attended a Harrison County Pre-K program, the school can provide a copy from the student’s file.
Immunization Record
Some children may need additional immunizations after Pre-K.
Well Child Exam Form
The form must be dated within the last 365 days, or families may bring an appointment card for an upcoming visit. Parents may also talk with the school nurse about health concerns during registration.
Dental Exam Form
The form must be dated within the last 365 days, or families may bring an appointment card for an upcoming visit.
