CLARKSBURG - Harrison County Schools students earned top honors at the State Math Field Day competition.
In the Grades 4-9 Division, Anna Song, an 8th-grade student at Bridgeport Middle School, placed 2nd. Leon Vorst, a 7th-grade student at Bridgeport Middle School, placed 4th.
In the Grades 10-12 Division, Leroy Song was named the WV State Math Field Day Champion. He also received the Carl Cummings Memorial Trophy and was named an American Regions Math League, or ARML, invitee.
Other Harrison County winners in the Grades 10-12 Division included Wade Lane from Robert C. Byrd High School, who placed 17th and was named an ARML invitee. Kevin Dong from South Harrison High School placed 18th and was also named an ARML invitee. William Northey from Bridgeport High School placed 19th and was named a 1st alternate for ARML.
Region 7 also won the highest-scoring region award in both the Grades 4-9 Division and the Grades 10-12 Division.
