The Harrison County Board of Education held its regular meeting on Monday, July 6, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. in the Board Room at 445 West Main Street in Clarksburg. The meeting was streamed on YouTube.
Meeting Opening
The meeting opened with a welcome to those in attendance, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance.
Superintendent’s Update
During the superintendent’s update, the Board heard that principal meetings are being planned for July 21 and 22. The superintendent also shared that school crews are continuing summer work in buildings across the county as summer school nears its end.
Facilities Update
A facilities update highlighted several projects now underway. Work is moving forward on the Simpson Elementary playground, with concrete work in progress and steps being prepared. Once that work is complete, Davis Athletics is expected to finish the project.
A pre-construction meeting was also scheduled for the Bridgeport Middle School secure entry project.
Crews are also stripping and waxing floors in schools, painting inside and outside buildings, addressing HVAC needs, and completing drainage work at West Milford. United High School also received new flooring down the main hallway.
County Office Updates
The superintendent welcomed several staff members into new county office roles. Rebecca Hawk was welcomed into the Supervisor of Personnel role, Tammy Leaseburg was noted as moving to the role of Administrative Assistant for Elementary Schools and Curriculum Development, and Jody Johnson was welcomed into Federal Programs.
Consent Agenda Approved
The Board approved the consent agenda. Items included meeting minutes, financial transactions, COBRA rates, lease payments, insurance items, FY2027 purchase orders, commodities, food service items, WV Game Changer, PRO officers, curriculum services, United Technical Center, and National Youth Advocate Program Inc.
New Business
Under new business, the Board approved the Healthy Grandfamilies contract between Harrison County Schools and Pam Hotsinpiller for coordinator services from July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2027.
The Board also approved the MOU for at-risk services with Hamner Psychological Services.
Personnel
The Board approved personnel recommendations, with Hannah Grace Birmingham removed from the agenda.
Board Member Comments
During board member comments, members thanked those who attended or watched the meeting and wished staff and families a safe and enjoyable rest of the summer.

The Board voted to adjourn the meeting.
