South Harrison Football Game Safety

Dear Parents and Guardians,

As we continue to provide a safe and enjoyable environment at our school athletic events, we need your support in addressing increasing concerns regarding student supervision during football games.

Over the past several events on campus, we have experienced multiple serious situations involving students who were gathering outside of supervised areas. To ensure the safety of all students and spectators, the following expectations will be in place for all football games moving forward:

Students K-12 attending football games must remain in the spectator stands unless they are traveling directly to and from the concession stand or restroom facilities.

The following areas are off limits to students attending football games:

  • Playground

  • Nature trail

  • Soccer field

  • Baseball field

  • Softball field

  • Basketball court

  • Any other area outside of the designated game and spectator areas

Our game supervision staff is responsible for monitoring the game, managing the crowd and ensuring a safe experience for all attendees. It is simply NOT possible for staff to provide adequate supervision for groups gathering across the entire campus while fulfilling these responsibilities at the field.

Students who are found in off-limits areas will be asked to return to the stands, and repeated violations may result in removal from the event and loss of future game attendance privileges.

We strongly encourage parents and guardians to attend games with their middle school aged children whenever possible. Your presence helps ensure a safe, enjoyable experience for everyone and reinforces the expectations we have for student conduct.

Thank you for your partnership and support as we work together to keep our students safe.
