Throughout the week of November 9–13, 2026, Harrison County Schools will join thousands of other communities in celebrating National School Psychology Week (NSPW), with the theme “Inspire Connection.” NSPW is an annual opportunity to recognize school psychologists’ work helping children and youth thrive. School psychologists’ partner with families, teachers, school administrators, and others to create safe, healthy, and supportive learning environments that strengthen connections between home, school, and the community. They apply expertise in mental health, learning, and behavior to help children and youth succeed socially, behaviorally, emotionally, and academically.
This year’s theme, “Inspire Connection,” highlights how school psychologists build meaningful relationships that support students, strengthen collaboration, and transform school communities. Every day, school psychologists create and maintain connections that make a difference in the lives of children and youth. They support students in building skills, confidence, and a sense of belonging. They partner with educators and families to better understand and respond to students’ needs. They help schools by aligning efforts, improving supports across systems, and creating environments where all students can succeed.
Thank you to our school psychologists who make a difference every day in Harrison County student’s lives:
Lori Bailey, Victoria Barnosky, Jennifer Downward, Rachel James, Emily McCauley, Kim Moss, and Kristen Thompson
