Last week, Mrs. Marozzi preschool class at Victory Elementary School studied fire safety. They discussed and practiced Stop, Drop and Roll as well as staying low and crawling if there is smoke in their house. Engaging in pretend play as they dressed up to be fire fighters and pretended to be the “Brave Firefighter” like in our morning rhyming poem. They discussed things that were hot and cold and made a chart. They practiced when it is appropriate to call 911 and how to dial the number. To end our week of fire safety, we had a special visit with the Clarksburg Fire Department. Together, with the other preschool classes, they were able to explore their fire fighting gear and fire truck.

To wrap up a unit on Arthur Miller's play "The Crucible," about the events of the Salem Witch Trials, United High students in Mrs. Clutter's English class held a mock funeral for one of the main characters. The students created elegies for the character and presented them to the class.

Congratulations to South Harrison High School FFA members Hunter Bunch, Hunter Johnson, Hailea Livesay, and Tyler Reed on being named recipients for American FFA Degrees!
