Building Hope Charity held events at Liberty HS and Lincoln HS Monday and Tuesday! The charity uses high energy, multiple stimulus, one-day presentations to assist students and staff in catalyzing positive change in the culture of schools.
The organization will hold a presentation at Robert C. Byrd HS on Thursday.

Students in Mrs. Tonkery’s Third Grade class at Lumberport Elementary learned about text features by performing “surgery” on a nonfiction text. Each student worked together to find captions, headings, photographs, and key words.

The WV Young Writers Contest 2022 is open to any students in grades 1-12!

The ACT will be given on December 11, 2021. Please check test location availability as it is subject to change based on COVID-19 restrictions. The registration deadline is November 5th, with late fees accepted until November 19th. Students will need to register for the ACT at http://www.actstudent.org/regist/dates.html
John Ebert will be hosting an ACT Math Prep Class on Sunday, December 5th, in the BMS LGI, from 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm. Mr. Ebert will contact students via email if the class is moved to an online format due to COVID-19 restrictions. Students must register at http://www.johnebertmathactprep.com prior to attending this free course.
Students at West Milford Elementary visited a Farmer’s Market (in the gym). Students purchased items thanks to a grant. Big thanks to Green Acres Farm in Rock Cave for providing the produce!

ProStart students are getting ready for their pumpkin roll sale. The sale starts Wednesday, October 20th, and ends on Friday, November 5th.

On October 5, 2021, the students at Big Elm Elementary who participated and achieved their individual goals for the summer reading challenge participated in a reward. This reward was provided, in collaboration with, the Harrison County Parks and Recreation. 67 students enjoyed reading 15 to 20 minutes daily during the summer. Medals were also given out to those who read at least 20 days (Bronze), 30 days (Silver), and 40 days (Gold). Students who read at least 10 days received a personalized certificate. These incentives were provided by Title 1, the school federal funding program. Fun was had by all! The students were encouraged to continue reading daily.
