Superintendent Dora Stutler announced at the Board of Education Regular Meeting on Tuesday, February 15th, 2022 that wearing masks will be optional in Harrison County Schools starting Monday, February 21st, 2022.
Harrison County Schools will operate on a 2-hour delay on Monday, February 14, 2022.

While reading the two argumentative texts, “What was the Purpose of the Inca’s Knotted String” and “Spinning a Yarn”, Ms. Tuckers 5th grade class at Big Elm Elementary tried their hands and knotting their strings to represent numbers.
Another activity the students experienced, in Mrs. Felder's Social Skills class at Evolution Middle School, was making Valentine’s Day cards to share with those in the nursing home. This encouraged them to look beyond themselves and create something for others less fortunate.
During Mrs. Felder’s Social Skills class at Evolution Middle School, students engaged in a web-making activity sharing experiences from their personal lives. This activity gave the students an opportunity to share in a safe environment, as well as learn how to work as a team.
Mrs. Tennant's kindergarten class at Nutter Fort Primary celebrated Chinese New Year earlier this week!

The Board and Superintendent recognized Connor Lane, a student of Lincoln High School, for being accepted to this summer's Air Force JROTC Flight Academy. This is an 8-week curriculum of classroom and "stick time" at a university yet to be named. Upon graduation, Connor will have a Private Pilot's License Certificate plus 3 hours of college credit. This is an extremely competitive program for this nation-wide selection (our area picked 5 out of 250). Congratulations to Connor for his achievement!
In celebration of Groundhog Day, Wilsonburg Elementary students will be making their own predictions. Each student will vote on whether French Creek Freddie will see his shadow not.
