As many of our high schools prepare to celebrate Homecoming, we want to take a moment to wish everyone a fun and safe weekend.
Homecoming is an exciting event, and we hope you all have a fantastic time, but it's also important to prioritize safety and well-being.
Make smart decisions, look out for each other, and remember to follow traffic rules and avoid distractions if you're driving.

In response to recent school threats, the FBI has released the following statement:
The FBI is aware of recent threats directed toward multiple school districts across Western Pennsylvania and West Virginia. We remain in close coordination with our law enforcement partners to provide assistance where appropriate. That includes gathering intelligence, sharing information, tracking down leads, and working with partners to identify and mitigate threats quickly and effectively.
Issuing a threat of any kind promoting violence can be a violation of state and/or federal law. Those found responsible will be thoroughly investigated, and FBI Pittsburgh will immediately engage with our local, state, and federal partners to leverage the full extent of the law.
These threats disrupt school, waste resources, and put first responders and innocent people in unnecessary danger.
FBI Pittsburgh stands committed and ready to respond to any immediate threat involving any educational institution 24 hours a day. We encourage students, teachers, administrators, and parents to remain vigilant and to promptly report suspicious activities that could represent a threat to 911, to the FBI at 1-800-CALL-FBI, or online at tips.fbi.gov.”

📅 Reminder: Schools will be closed on Monday in observance of Labor Day. Enjoy the long weekend, and we'll see everyone back on Tuesday! 🇺🇸

Liberty High School and Mountaineer Middle School will be closed on Friday, August 30, 2024, due to HVAC issues. The bus from Liberty High School to Robert C. Byrd High School will still run. Scheduled extra-curricular activities will not be canceled.

"Did I do that??"
This week at North View Elementary School, Mr. Lacaria and Mr. Urkel (or should we say Mr. Retton?) are teaming up to deliver some important lessons to classrooms on "Differences and Why They're Necessary."
The goal? To help students understand that everyone is unique and views the world in their own special way. They're also learning the importance of empathy and how to put themselves in someone else’s shoes. After all, we all see the world differently, and that’s a great thing!

This morning, we have again experienced a gas odor at various points in the county (mainly the Clarksburg area). We are monitoring the situation with emergency services, who have indicated that the odor is residual from yesterday and is a result of weather conditions not allowing the smell to dissipate properly. Emergency services have indicated there is no threat to the public and we will continue to monitor the situation.
