South Harrison High School, South Harrison Middle School, Lost Creek Elementary School, and West Milford Elementary School will dismiss at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, April 9, 2024, due to a water outage.


Families: During dismissal on April 8, 2024, our region will witness a partial solar eclipse coinciding with the first day back from Spring Break. HCS would like to remind everyone about the potential dangers of viewing the solar eclipse directly or looking at the sun during this time.
If your child drives to and from school, please discuss safety measures and expectations with them. All HCS schools will adhere to the regular schedule, taking precautions, and promoting alternative ways to experience the eclipse, like television feeds or internet live streams.

The Harrison County Board of Education is deeply saddened to announce the tragic passing of a respected teacher at Liberty High School, following an accident that occurred early Tuesday morning in the school’s parking lot.
The loss of the beloved teacher is a profound tragedy for our school community. Our thoughts are with the families involved during this difficult time.
Out of respect, all extracurricular activities at Liberty High School as well as the Harrison County Board of Education meetings scheduled for this evening have been canceled.
