South Harrison FFA Banquet Officers

West Milford (Wednesday, February, 23, 2022) – The South Harrison FFA Chapter in Lost Creek, WV held their Annual Parent Member as part of their Celebration of the National FFA Week, February 20-27 2022.

Members began the week by attending the FFA Day at the Capitol in Charleston, West Virginia. Members from across the state converged on the capitol complex to promote agricultural education. South Harrison FFA members were fortunate enough to have meetings with the entire Harrison County Legislative Delegation; Senators Patrick Martin and Mike Romano, Delegates Ben Queen, Laura Kimble, Danny Hamrick, and Clay Riley. Advisor John Lockhart stated “I have never felt that my students were more welcomed and supported than they were at the Capitol by our Harrison County Delegation. It was an amazing opportunity for our students to witness the legislative process and we are fortunate to have been afforded such an opportunity by six incredible servant leaders.”

On Wednesday night at the West Milford Community Building the FFA Chapter held its long awaited parent member banquet after a two-year hiatus due to Covid-19. With over 130 guests and members present, the Chapter recognized students for their accomplishments within the FFA Organization, named new honorary members, and gave tokens of appreciation to this year’s sponsors.

On Thursday, Matt McCallister, recruiter from United Technical Institute in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania presented a recruitment session to the members of the FFA on their technical programs and higher education opportunities. Finishing out the week South Harrison FFA Chapter Officers went on a goodwill tour throughout the county to recognize sponsors for their contributions to the program over the past year.
